Change has come

Crellim July 28, 2014

This journey I travel has prepared me for this exact moment.
I know to my core that change is constant, so I’m not afraid.
It’s just a reminder that I’m not always in control and must adapt.
Time for a new challenge and an opportunity for growth.

I am so blessed!
I have travelled and seen the world.
I have worked with and friended some of the most amazing people.
I am so proud of everything I’ve accomplished

I knew it was time for change.
I was taking steps. I moved to Oakland.
But the universe smacked me on the head for not changing fast enough!
So the universe made the change for me instead.

Change has come! I’m excited for what is to come.
I’m grateful for all the blessings that helped prepare me for today.
I’m ready for the next adventure! I’m ready for this moment.
I know how to move forward!

Orchids

Crellim July 15, 2014

When I moved to Oakland, I bought some beautiful orchids for my apartment. As an experiment, I I painted them three separate ways. This was my favorite of the three, but I have all of them now hung in my apartment 🙂

Streetart Obsessed

Crellim July 12, 2014

I’m always on the search for streetart and graffiti. Luckily, I live in Oakland where there is over 250 murals and lots of wheat pastes, stencils, and stickers.  Here’s two of my favorites from a recent photo stroll.

Needy

Crellim July 7, 2014
I can move to new cities
Travel all over the world on my own
Eat dinner and go to the movies by myself
Take care of myself and be financially independent
Yet, I’ve been told – don’t be needy. No one likes someone who is needy!
So, I’ve tried to live in opposition to needy.
I’m strong, I can solve all my problems, I’m a rock, I can do it all on my own.
Don’t be vulnerable, done need anyone. Who cares if I’m lonely.
Dammit, do not be needy.
But now I’m tired of being the rock and going it alone. What the hell is wrong with needing someone. What is wrong with wanting someone to need me?
So yes, I am what I am most afraid of being. I don’t want to go it alone.
I am needy.

Elemental New

Crellim June 4, 2014
As the sun sets, I’ve seen clouds radiate pink
I found clouds lined with rainbows in the middle of the day
I’ll take that over every silver-lined cloud any day
I’ve had the salt air of the ocean curl my hair
The cool fog kiss my cheeks as it dances through the streets
The dry heat of mountain deserts toasts my skin dry
My element is fire, but for this moment I dance with the wind
Fleeting and changing with the power to move my heft
But without substance so I can’t touch it with my finger tips
Grounded in the experience of who I am
It is time for me to step beyond the cliche
A moment of an opening to find a new way

Bryce – Another World

Crellim May 18, 2014

I love traveling and exploring new places. Bryce Canyon National Park is one of my favorite places I’ve ever been. It’s like walking into another world.

More than you, City

Crellim May 14, 2014

I love my city, but you don’t give me everything I need.

The tree roots don’t grow deep and and any rivers that once cut through have been sucked dry.
Though you normally bring me life, tomorrow I must leave to find something deeper.
Rocks created at the birth of this earth, cut through by wind and water will heal my soul.
Fish who know that their purpose is just to swim, will guide me back to my own purpose.
Tomorrow, I begin again.

Karl

Crellim May 2, 2014

I moved here for you!

It was the way you washed completely over me that drove me mad for you. I longed for the way you drift through my heart.
But you left, the wind stood still. No more cool caresses of my cheeks.
A violent flame burned in my heart. I raged. I was so hot.
I waited. I hoped for your return.
Then you came back driving full force into the city.
A deep sigh of relief left my lips as you gently stroke my face.
And I could release my full love for you once more, Karl, the fog!

Daisies

Crellim April 10, 2014

The first painting I discovered my intense love for painting. I completely forgot where I was. Realized, that was a good sign and I should probably start painting more.
